My name is Elissa McGlaughlin, or Elissa Mac.
I'm a contemporary landscape artist based in Central Illinois, creating bold, memory-driven paintings inspired by real places and experiences. I primarily work with acrylic, gouache, and watercolor to explore the intersection of color, light, and emotion—capturing not just the look of a place but also the feelings it evokes.
As a passionate wanderer, I've been fortunate to explore diverse landscapes across the Americas, from California's majestic Redwoods to Florida's vibrant waters, Costa Rica's diverse ecosystems, and the Canadian urban centers. My paintings invite viewers into fluid moments of calm and connection, rooted in both observation and intuition.
With over 30 years of experience as a photographer, I have a trained eye for composition and light, blending technique with memory.
