About the Artist

The Full Story
I've always been drawn to capturing moments that matter.
I picked up a camera in 1994 and have been seeing the world through that lens–observing how light moves, how places feel, how a single moment can stay with you long after you've left it, ever since.
Nearly thirty years later, my painting practice became a natural extension of that.
Today, I create colorful, expressive landscapes inspired by the places that have shaped me—spanning across the Americas. I love the quiet familiarity of Central Illinois, but am a wanderer at heart. My paintings illustrate my travels and work to bring the beauty of our world into your home, from the vibrant energy of Florida's coastlines and waters to the rocky, windblown shorelines of Maine. I've been fortunate to visit the most biologically diverse area on the planet in Costa Rica and many of the crown jewels of the U.S., our National Parks.
Most of my work is created in the studio, where I can lean fully into color, memory, and emotion.
But some of it happens outside, in real time—where I'm learning, experimenting, and documenting my growth through my plein air journey.
That balance between confidence and curiosity, between what I know and what I'm still discovering, both about myself and the beauty of our environment, no matter where our feet are planted—this is where my work lives.
At the heart of it all, I'm not just painting places.
I'm painting the feeling of being there.
Let's wander together.
